From our Sewing Studio

At LLIAM, hope often looks like paint on someone’s hands.

It started with one woman. Susan Kay.

Susan showed up with brushes, paint, and a big heart. She began teaching art classes in her community — not just to create beauty, but to create _opportunity_.

Every month, amazing women from Rutherford Memorial UMC gather for her class. Susan leads, teaches new techniques, and encourages each student. And here’s the beautiful part: 100% of the proceeds from every painting, card, go directly to the LLIAM Sewing Project.

That means one woman’s talent is becoming another woman’s livelihood.

How It All Works
1. Susan Kay leads the Art & Painting Classes. She does the planning, the teaching, the organizing — and she does it all with joy.
2. The Art Students show up. The amazing Tennessee Women who want to learn, grow, and give back. They paint together, sell together, and pray together.
3. Individual Donors like you keep it going.Your monthly gifts and one-time donations buy fabric, thread, and pay the sewing teacher. You are the steady foundation under this whole project.
4. The Sewing Women benefit. Rescued young girls, young Mothers, Vulnerable Women and caregivers who are learning to stitch fabric, in oredr to build the life they dream, without compromise.

This is a reminder that the Lord has blessed us all round that we can be a blessing to others. We can use the very talent He gave us, multiply it and be stewards he’ll be proud like the servant in Matthew 25: 14–30. 

We still have need and pray that many sowers will be inspired by Susan and her Team to support the vulnerable women of Wakiso in Uganda. 

The Need Right Now
To keep both our classes (the beginner class & industrial production class) running strong, we urgently need:

1. $460 - Industrial Overlock Machine–For clean, professional seams on uniforms and products
2. $320 - Heavy-Duty Electric Machine–For power production and tough fabrics
3. $360 - Sponsor a Whole Class1 month of training + all resources for 6 young women

Some paint. Some give. Some stitch.Together we’re building futures.
